panaet
with collective anestuary
Panaet is a ritual originating in Iloilo, Phillipines. Led by maaram (shamans), participants pray for rain to quench the thirst of their dried farmlands and for good harvests to improve their living just enough. In its original practice, participants turn to creator & ancestor to provide guidance through formidable times.
Inspired by this traditional practice, Arteche, Icban, and Transcriptions01 offer an interactive ceremony for collective prayer. Through sound, movement, and breath, audience members are invited to activate their intentions in community.
